What does it mean to positvely influence others?
Four amazing student ambassadors have joined Canopy’s team this summer. These students come from a variety of backgrounds and areas of Spokane. Over the course of the summer, they have the opportunity to learn about financial education as well as community impact. Learn how Ambassador Gabby cares deeply about those around her.
What is your story? Where are you from? What in your life has made you who you are today?
My parents have really influenced who I am today. I feel so lucky to have had such incredible people to grow up around who have always supported me and my interests. I was born and raised in Spokane and consider myself fortunate to live in a city where there’s so much nature around.
What are you passionate about? What are some ways that you hope to impact your community?
I’ve always been passionate about the environment and I hope to see Spokane and the world as a whole take steps to change it for the better and minimize our negative impact. In my personal community (school/home/friends) I hope to be a positive influence in people's lives. There’s a real lack of help for young people going through tough times so I try my best to help where I can.
Who is one of your current role models? Why are they your role model?
I’ve always looked to my mom as a role model in my life and I love hanging out and talking with her.
What are your current career aspirations?
Right now I’m interested in going to college for environmental science or forestry to become a park ranger. I love the outdoors and the educational aspect sounds very fun.
Why is financial education important to you?
Financial education is important to me because it will be crucial information for me once I start making and managing my own money.
