Spokane Federal Credit Union (soon to be Canopy Credit Union) members received over $58,000 in cash back rewards and refunded over $15,000 in ATM fees
June 23, 2019 (Spokane, WA) – In October, 2016, Spokane Federal launched innovative checking accounts that reward members with cash back, nationwide ATM fee refunds and no monthly service fees. Since then, the credit union has opened 655 Kasasa Cash Back checking accounts and paid a total of $58,583.15 in cash back rewards.
Joe Murcar, Spokane Federal’s Vice President of Finance, said, “Members who take advantage of our Kasasa accounts save money and are more engaged with the Credit Union. They see the benefits every month, which builds strong member loyalty. It’s a win/win!”
Spokane Federal’s Kasasa Cash Back checking account earns 3% cash back on up to $300 in debit card purchases and provides ATM fee refunds every month putting more money in members’ wallets.
“In our competitive landscape, it’s not enough to just offer free checking; members expect convenience, too. Our Kasasa checking accounts offer ATM fee refunds up to $20 every month so they can use ATM’s nationwide knowing that fees will be reimbursed,” said Murcar. To date, the Credit Union has paid $15,122.03 in ATM refunds since launching these checking accounts.
Spokane Federal expects to see an increase in these high reward checking accounts when they open their Spokane Valley branch this summer.
